The UAV-lab team went to Avalon Airshow last week. Here are some photos from the event.

F35 Joint Strike Fighter:

First appearance in Australia. It wasn’t scheduled to fly, but did a short sortie. Unfortunately not at the time it was scheduled, so I missed most of it.

F22 Raptor:

Note the usage or the small ailerons to pitch the aircraft to high angle of attack, while the tailplanes are neutral. Clearly an unstable longitudinal trim to achieve this.
